Privacy Policy

🛡️

We do not sell your personal data. Ever. Savit Technologies is built on transparency and trust. Your privacy is not a feature — it is a fundamental right we uphold in everything we build.

1. Introduction

Savit Technologies Private Limited (“Savit Technologies”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15374055). We develop and publish mobile and digital applications designed to enrich the lives of users worldwide.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our applications, visit our website, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”). Our current applications include:

  • JapNaam — a Sikh spiritual companion app providing personalised Hukamnama, Gurbani reading, Nitnem tracking, and AI-assisted reflection.

Additional applications will be listed here as they are released.

Please read this policy carefully. By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This policy is compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and applicable app store guidelines including Apple App Store and Google Play Store requirements.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our Services.

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Your name, email address, and authentication credentials used to create and maintain your account. You may also sign in using Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or Facebook Login, in which case we receive only the basic profile information you authorise.
  • User-Generated Content: Spiritual journal entries, personal notes, and preferences you create within our apps.
  • Feedback and Support: Information you provide when contacting us for support or offering feedback.

B. App-Specific Data

  • Spiritual and Religious Data (Article 9, UK GDPR): Some of our apps, including JapNaam, are designed for Sikh spiritual practice. By their nature, interactions with these apps — such as Nitnem completion logs, reading progress, and journal entries — may reflect your religious beliefs and practices. This constitutes special category data under UK GDPR and is processed only with your explicit consent, as necessary to deliver the core features you have requested. This data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for profiling.
  • Journal Entries: In JapNaam, journal entries are encrypted on your device before being transmitted to or stored on our servers. We are technically unable to read the content of your journal entries.
  • AI Conversation Data: When you use AI-assisted features such as Shabad Vichaar in JapNaam, your messages are transmitted to a third-party AI service provider solely to generate responses in real time. Conversation history is stored on our servers to maintain session continuity. We do not use your AI conversations to train AI models, and this data is not shared beyond what is necessary to deliver the feature.
  • Offline Gurbani Data: JapNaam stores a complete Gurbani text database locally on your device. This data is read-only and is never transmitted to our servers. Your reading activity within this offline database remains entirely on your device.

C. Automatically Collected Data

  • Usage Data: Features used, session duration, in-app actions, and interaction patterns.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and hardware model.
  • Crash Reports: Technical data about app errors, including device state at the time of a crash, collected via third-party diagnostics tools. No personal content is included in crash reports.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you grant permission, we store a device push token to deliver personalised notifications. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our applications and Services, including processing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
  • To deliver personalised features, such as daily Hukamnama recommendations tailored to your spiritual goals and preferences.
  • To improve, personalise, and expand our Services based on user behaviour and feedback.
  • To diagnose technical issues, fix bugs, and ensure the stability and security of our apps.
  • To communicate with you in response to inquiries, support requests, or feedback you submit.
  • To send you spiritual reminders and notifications where you have granted permission.
  • To send you important notices regarding updates to our Services, terms, or this Privacy Policy.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activity.

We rely on the following legal bases under UK GDPR: explicit consent (special category spiritual/religious data), legitimate interests (analytics and app improvement), contract performance (delivering paid features), and legal obligation (compliance requirements).

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share data with carefully selected third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Services, including:

  • Cloud infrastructure and database providers
  • AI language model providers (for AI-assisted features only)
  • Subscription and payment processors
  • Crash reporting and diagnostics tools
  • App distribution platforms (Apple App Store, Google Play Store)
  • Authentication providers, including Apple, Google, and Meta (Facebook), where you choose to sign in using those services

All providers are contractually bound by data processing agreements and are prohibited from using your data for their own purposes. We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where a higher minimum age applies under UK GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@savit.tech. We will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.
